Villas are very clean and spacious, with en-suites, air-conditioning and even a washer and dryer. Food and drinks cheap with the Sunday afternoon BBQ a real winner, plus you get live entertainment. Staff are amazing and will go out of their way to help with booking tours. Highly recommend, especially for families. Date of stay: July 2018 35 contributions 4 helpful votes We had a 2 bedroom villa, both had attached bathrooms. Bedrooms had built-ins and air conditioning. Washing machine and dryer was a great help. Kitchen was basic but we managed to cook all breakfasts and dinners for a family of 4. Kellie was a great help and got us discounted bookings for Hartleys Crocodile Adventures, Great Barrier Reef tour (Quicksilver), Kuranda scenic railway and Skyrail. The Tiki bar served nice cocktails and the pool was clean and kids loved it. About 10 minutes drive from Port Douglas centre and an hour from Cairns airport. Highly recommended for the budget conscious traveller. Room also had a TV but no DVD player.

First-rate, gay-friendly lodgings that won't set you back a fortune include the famed Taos Inn near the Plaza and the charming American Artists Gallery House B&B. 02 Eureka Springs, Arkansas photo by Andrew Collins You might be surprised to discover one of the Heartland's favorite small-town gay getaways in the heart of the Ozarks, closer to family-values-dominant Branson than to any major cities with a sizable gay population and three LGBT Diversity weekends each year. But this hilly, historic Arkansas town that's also, oddly enough, very popular with conservative Christians draws many gay visitors from Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Dallas. It's also a town that's easy on the bank account, with a multitude of affordable B&Bs, casual barbecue and Mexican joints, and inexpensive antique shops. Even the grand 1905 Basin Park Hotel has rooms starting under $100. The popular, lesbian-owned Pond Mountain Lodge & Resort is one of the most tranquil, scenic accommodations in town.
I would especially recommend getting a party together and booking your accommodation at this level, and hiring a bartender for the intimate little bar tucked away down here as well. There are cozy lounging areas, sumptuously furnished, and positively packed with memorabilia, - including a rather engaging antique motor-bike. (Don't tell Terry I put my foot on his pride and joy for a photo! ) Terry is a fabulous host and always ready to tell you all about the place. He has been painstakingly and lovingly renovating it, and applying his own tastes to make it a mixture of luxury but also 'frontier town rough and readiness'. He is still working on a few little things, so be ready for that. But he and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I very much enjoyed my home-cooked, country-pub meal. It was chicken parmigiana, home-made chunky chips, gravy (an extra), and a lovely fresh salad, - all accompanied by chilled Moscato wine (my favourite! ) Within walking distance are all sorts of mining apparatus dotted about the landscape (quite bizarre), old mines, a train-station, furnished miner's cottage (with backyard dunny and shower), and a museum.
